My Love of Frogtape

How to create gorgeous designs with a very small budget. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll have spotted that I like to use frog tape to add a little interest to a room. And if you’ve been following me a while you’ll know I’ve been at it for a while now too! Alice’s room for example has those gorgeous layered mountains and I have a corner of pink in my living room. I’ve also just started on a little hallway update using the sticky stuff and it’s already looking great. I do love DIY and I think its great…

Tapas Revolution

Girl in the North turns Foodie I was very kindly invited to Tapas Revolution in Newcastle to taste their new paellas to share last week and I was not disappointed! I booked a table for myself, the hubby and four of our friends and with Spanish food being one of my favourites I was looking forward to a child free evening filled with food and sangria! We were greeted by friendly staff and I immediately ordered a tropical sparkling sangria which was light, refreshing and perfect for the warm evening. The Paella Mixta was the best of both worlds with…

Hello, Ciao, Hola, Bonjour …

See what I did there? I am really excited to be taking over the blog of Girl in the North from Katy. I hope I can do all of her hard work justice. I thought I would start with a little introduction into my life. I’ve been blogging on and off for the past year whilst posting my life and house on Instagram. So here goes! My favourite things include interiors and DIY and we are currently working our way though the house. I wouldn't say I have one particular style but I love to do things on a budget, I have a thing for pink and I love a good gallery wall. One part of my home that I absolutely adore is Alice's room which allowed me to be really creative and go a little bolder.

Fenwick Christmas Window

It doesn’t matter how old you are, there is nothing better to get you in the festive mood, than a little trip to Fenwick Christmas Window in Newcastle! The windows are unveiled in mid-November but I usually save my trip for later in the month when the weather is that little bit crisper and a mulled wine wouldn’t go amiss. I was shocked and appalled to hear G had never been so we headed into town yesterday evening. Every year the theme is kept a closely-guarded secret until the big unveil but sometimes when shopping you can get a little…

Free Film Day: Vue Cinema – Gateshead

I hadn’t been to the cinema in what felt like years until this past weekend, so an invitation to a day of free films at Gateshead’s Vue Cinema was a welcomed one! Especially since I’d been itching to see Gone Girl since it first came out. The Gateshead Vue Cinema has only been open a year and it’s located right next to the equally new Tesco superstore, near the Tyne Bridge. Parking is free and easy considering how close you are to Newcastle city centre and the Gateshead Quays. We headed straight in out of the cold and found the…
