My Love of Frogtape

How to create gorgeous designs with a very small budget. If you follow me on Instagram you’ll have spotted that I like to use frog tape to add a little interest to a room. And if you’ve been following me a while you’ll know I’ve been at it for a while now too! Alice’s room for example has those gorgeous layered mountains and I have a corner of pink in my living room. I’ve also just started on a little hallway update using the sticky stuff and it’s already looking great. I do love DIY and I think its great…

Hello, Ciao, Hola, Bonjour …

See what I did there? I am really excited to be taking over the blog of Girl in the North from Katy. I hope I can do all of her hard work justice. I thought I would start with a little introduction into my life. I’ve been blogging on and off for the past year whilst posting my life and house on Instagram. So here goes! I’m Danielle, 30, mummy to a cheeky toddler Alice, wife to (a very handy) Andy and I live in Gateshead just over the water from Newcastle upon Tyne. We moved into our house around…

My favourite things include interiors and DIY and we are currently working our way though the house. I wouldn't say I have one particular style but I love to do things on a budget, I have a thing for pink and I love a good gallery wall. Twins and a Sickness Bug

There’s really no nice way of dressing up the title for this post… it is exactly what it says it is. Preparing for Twins – Farmhouse Restoration

One of my first thoughts I had when I found out we were having twins was ‘Oh my goodness how will we fit in our house?’ I’m the first to admit we hadn’t really planned or prepared for one baby, let alone two so my initial reaction was panic. Thankfully unlike myself, Jay is the opposite of me and is calm, confident and doesn’t panic in fairly unique situations like the one we were experiencing. We’re having MoDi (monochorionic diamniotic) twins, which means it’s a high risk pregnancy because they share a placenta and are only separated by a very…

Bucket List – 006 Buy my own house

Friday just gone was an incredibly exciting but long and busy day for me. After finishing work and a visit to see one of my best friends, I got in later than I expected. That was when the reality of the situation sunk in, that in the morning a removal van was coming to get all my furniture and I hadn’t packed one thing! You’re probably thinking, ‘hang on a minute Katy, didn’t you just move in?’ And you’re right it was only 12 months ago that I started to rent my little house and I’ve loved every second of…
