A Day at Dalton Park

It’s not very often I get to go for a full day shopping. It’s one of my first loves. Being a big fan of a bargain outlet shopping is perfect for me so when I was invited along to Dalton Park I couldn’t wait to check out what they had to offer. I dragged the hubby and Alice along for a day out shopping and the sun was shining – what a great start.

Dalton Park is located in Murton, Durham and is the biggest outlet shopping centre in the North East with over 50 stores, eateries and cinema.

With an excellent selection of homeware stores I couldn’t wait to get around the park and see what I could find. With lots of parking and easy access perfect for a buggy we strapped Alice up and headed for some serious shopping. Here are my top picks!

I’m a huge lover of Denby Pottery. The timeless style to suit any dining area as well the exceptional quality make it an excellent choice. One of my favourite items (hard to choose let me tell you) were these gorgeous storage jars. A beautiful statement for any kitchen and perfect to hide away bench top items you reach for regularly. I also loved their new range which was pink! Most ranges had at least 30% off which equates to a huge saving when you’re buying a dinner service. I also think lots of items have so many different uses – a jug as a vase, storage pot for plants and herbs or a cup with a cute cacti.

If you need a light fitting Pagazzi is your store. With such a huge range of lighting fixtures I honestly didn’t know where to look. Lots of style and different sizes plus some bits of furniture thrown in for good measure. I did fall in love with a lamp here but forgot to get a picture – head over to my stories on Instagram to spot it!

Christy England

So hands up who hears the words Christy England and just automatically knows they will want to buy everything – just me? Well today was no exception! My favourite item just has to be the velvet throw. With a range of colours to suit any decor this throw will stand out and add a touch of luxury to the bedroom plus just look at that range of towels!

A brand I hadn’t heard of before talking to Dalton Park about my visit but I am so glad I have discovered this shop. Their bestsellers are their knives and pans and with one for every occasion I would challenge anyone not to find what they are looking for. Even though the shop is full to the brim of everything you need to be a successful chef (or home cook like myself) it was so neatly organised and easy to find everything. Plus the staff were lovely and helpful.

Jane Plum Interiors

I wasn’t sure what to expect of this store due to the name it was hard to gauge exactly what I would find. But what I did find was this amazing leather chair and an absolute steal at less than £100. If you’re looking for something quirky this shop is definitely a good place to start.

I am obsessed with bedding and there are a couple of shops which cater for my obsession. Bedeck offer high end luxury bedding at the most amazing prices. They stock Sanderson, Joules, and Scion to name a few as well as their Bedeck ranges. Some ranges were reduced by a huge 70%. I really loved this fleece blanket by Joules and the blue flocked bedding by Bedeck which was an absolute bargain!

Julian Charles

With a great range of bedding and accessories for the home Julian Charles is worth a look in. I loved the tropical vibes and these storage baskets would look great on top of a wardrobe or in a bathroom filled with fresh towels. They had lots of colours of plain dye also which I do love to play around with.

Wallpaper It

I love statement wallpaper and I think you can totally change up the feel and style of a room with a splash of wallpaper whilst keeping everything else simple. With all the tools to help you on your way Wallpaper It stocked a range of styles and had some killer designs for kids bedrooms. They also offer an interior design service which is perfect if you don’t know where to start.

The Mall

Dalton Park has a little something for everyone and perfect for a day out here in the North East. With shopping until 7pm there’s plenty of time to enjoy everything on offer. Alice loved the play area on site; so much we had a mini tantrum when we tried to pull her away. That girl loves a slide!

We spent the whole day here and grabbed something to eat at McDonalds as it’s always a firm favourite with Alice. There is also Pizza Express, Frankie & Bennys, Codrophenia, and a Marston’s Pub to grab something yummy and after all that shopping you can catch the latest films at the onsite Cineworld Cinema.
