On the hottest day of the year!
It feels like a little while ago since I was invited to enjoy some festive cheer and start thinking about Christmas. Yes you read right, Christmas! But Christmas has arrived at Tyneside Cinema!
I’ll hold my hands up here and say that considering I’ve lived in and around Newcastle my whole life I haven’t been to Tyneside Cinema before. Let me tell you, I’ve been missing a treat. The evening started with a greeting from Mr Claus and the Grinch (serious applause to all of the guys who were in costume).
I was greeted with a festive cocktail and a beautiful canvas bag with Tyneside Cinema printed on the side. I then made my way into the function room which had the most magnificent balloon arch and lots of different activities and treats laid out.
With a variety of packages and gifts available Tyneside Cinema really have a lot to offer for the festive season. From iconic Christmas classics to those that have become a Christmas favourite there’s something for everyone. Some of my favourites include;
- A screening of The Holiday – which comes with a special Holiday Survival Kit. Perfect for a pre-Christmas date night or going out with the girls. Complete with hankies and prosecco.
- It’s a Wonderful Life and Afternoon Tea – a Tyneside tradition; a Christmas classic with the most delicious afternoon tea. The afternoon tea boasts Oscar winning sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam and a selection of pastries and cakes. Yum!
- The Grinch Family Event – with cookies, milkshakes and a visit from the Grinch. This is great for little ones and adults alike. Enjoy this classic Dr Seauss remake with the whole family.
- The Polar Express Family Event – invited with your very own golden ticket; enjoy hot chocolate and maybe a visit from the big man himself. Attendance in your pyjamas is encouraged!
There is a number of other films being shown such as Die Hard, The Muppet’s Christmas Carol and Gremlins. Check out their website here for the full events program and see if you’re favourite is on.
As well as the fantastic Christmas events already ran there are options for party hire which would make a great office Christmas party or even just getting all your friends together for festive fun! I was really impressed with the bar and cafe area downstairs where it would be lovely to relax with a post shopping trip cocktail or grabbing a bite to eat.
With relaxed screenings, bringing in baby showings and family events there truly is something for everyone. To celebrate the launch of the Christmas programme Tyneside Cinema are giving away 40 tickets to a Polar Express screening on the 1st December at 11am click here to enter the draw.
Prize draw closes on the 7th September and the prize is a screening of the film only.
I was invited along to this event in return for coverage on my social media platforms. All opinions are my own. All information regarding accessibility and suitability of the events at Tyneside Cinema are available on their website.
