Things to do in the North East : Wise Words

Lots of people ask me why I started writing a blog and quite honestly the answer is, I started because I wanted to get the best grades possible at university and it helped! When it came to graduating time I’d picked up the habit though and throughout university people had complained to me they couldn’t find anything to do – so I decided to prove them wrong and write about things to do in the North East. I explain this in my faq’s, if you haven’t already seen.

I was tired of hearing how bored people were and how there wasn’t anything for them to do. It was this whole living for the weekend culture, meanwhile I was happy living for everyday!

The above picture (Wise Words for Teenagers) trended online back in August last year and I honestly don’t believe it applies to just teens. No matter what age, race, sex, or background, everyone should be able to take something from this. Only you can change your life. Find something to do, go out for a run, ride your bike, go window shopping, read a book! Make yourself busy, see the positive and like the below I found on A Nice Little Tumblr, life will love you back!

And whoever told you there aren’t things to do in the North East, clearly had their eyes closed. So if you’re living for the weekend, here’s a few ideas to keep you entertained during the week too! NE1’s Restaurant Week returns this January! Running from 21st until the 27th, it features 7 days of delicious dining at a cut price tag. There are lots of offers to be had so check out the website asap.

Start the new year with a cean bill of health and get signed up to the Sunderlland City 10k– this will keep you busy training for it!
Finally we may not be in Scotland but we can certainly join in with their Burns night celebrations and Rockliffe Hall are putting on a Hail Caledonia Burns Themed Evening (Jan 25th) to celebrate all things Scottish! It’s black tie or traditional Scottish dress only though mind… I’ll see you there with my kilt on!

I needed this post…not as a reminder to get out there and do stuff. But just for the quote. You have such a positive outlook…I need that. x
