A few weeks ago, I was invited to pop along to visit Newcastle/Gateshead's Comedy Festival on the Quayside. The lovely people at Jesterval gave me a pair of tickets to a show I'd heard loads about and had been dying to see - Luisa Omielan's, What Would Beyonce Do.
So after work on the Monday, I headed up to Gateshead and met my good friend Sam. We were a little early so we decided to test out the bar and keep warm in the marquee before the show. It was a really lovely and surprisingly pleasant Autumn evening so we didn't mind too much when a queue started to form to gain entry. We both agreed we were brave but not brave enough for the front row at a comedy show, so took some seats near the back when we got in and sipped our wine.
Now... I'm not going to ruin any of the show for you because you absolutely have to go see Luisa Omielan if you get the chance. The performance lasted for over an hour and a half and I was literally on an emotional roller-coaster the entire time. Be prepared to dance like a crazy person to Beyonce's songs, sing, tear-up and have serious stomach pains after from laughing so hard. The whole thing was absolutely brilliant and I cannot thank the people at Jesterval enough for having me along. After the show Sam and I got to meet and have a bit of a natter with Louisa who was so lovely & had us giggling once again!
I highly recommend if you get the chance to pop and see one of Louisa's shows. You can find a list of her up coming dates here and make sure you check out the Jesterval Website and stay tuned for their 2014 updates.
