In between meetings today, I was busy grabbing a coffee and checking twitter when I got a very exciting email! It was the announcement of NE1's Newcastle Fashion Week 2013 schedule and it sounds bigger and better than ever before. The main event kicks off on Saturday May 11th and features 7 days jam packed full of fashionable events. I already know a few of my readers who are planning on going this year, so I thought a little round up of the events might be useful - so here goes...
Mercedes Benz Car Bootique - Friday May 10
Mercedes Benz kick start the week when they transform their showroom into a catwalk featuring designer retailer Cruise. The evening will also feature a range of luxury brands presented in the boots of the new A-class before the VIP guests are chauffeured to one of the city's most stylish bars, Livello for drinks and canapés.
Newcastle Fashion Weekend - May 11-12
Said to be Newcastle's answer to the Clothes Show Live, NE1 are presenting their first ever Fashion Weekend. Held in Northumbria Student Union, the weekend will feature 2 days full of catwalks, demonstrations, talks, celebrity guests, designer clothes, shopping, stalls and much much more.
Delicious cupcakes and champagne will be on hand to re-fuel and for anyone who is feeling a little fatigued with all the shopping, the zen den will be open for a beauty fix! Day tickets are an absolute bargain at only £3 or if you like to spread your shopping over the two days, a 2 day ticket is only £5. Fabulous!
Martini Manicure Monday - May 13
Fat Buddha plays host to the city's first sample sale from Van Mildert on Monday 13th. Manicures, catwalks, pampering and shopping will be accompanied by Metro Radio DJs between 12-2pm. With discounts of up to 50% on brands such as Sam Edelman, Vero Moda, French Connection and Marc by Marc Jacobs, I'll be fighting you to the front of the queues for this event!
The event is free but if you want to be first in VIP tickets are available at £20 from Fat Buddha and feature a 2 course meal and premier catwalk seats!
Northumbria University Graduate Fashion Show - May 14
One of Britain's best fashion schools returns to the Baltic for a fourth year for it's Graduate Fashion Show. As well as an additional show this year's event will feature a fashion exhibition.
Fashion Front Row - May 15
One of my favourite events from last year returns to As You Like It for 2013! Presented by Donna Air, this year will feature her sister Francesca's latest collection and some of the regions best talent.
Eldon Square Catwalk - May 16
Shop till you drop - Thursday will feature a day of catwalks, discounts and promotions in Newcastle's best shopping centre, Eldon Square. Catwalk timetables and further details are yet to be announced but keep an eye on the Newcastle Fashion Week website.
The Royal Wedding - May 17
They can't guarantee you'll find your prince on the final day of NE1's Newcastle Fashion Week but they can show you your future wedding dress! If you're planning a wedding then The Theatre Royal is the only place you'll want to be - featuring fashions for brides, grooms and guests on a cinderella style catwalk! There are only a limited number of tickets to this event, so make sure you get in their fast.
It all sounds like it's set to be one of the best fashion weeks yet and I haven't even mentioned the fringe events, Newcastle's Most Stylish or Electrik Sheep's T-Shirt! Last year's event was so good, I really didn't think they'd be able to top it. To find out more information or to register for tickets head on over to the website.
