Last week I escaped the chilly North East in search of some Winter Sun. My brother and I booked a last minute long weekend in Tenerife, to surprise my parents who were already there on a two week-long holiday exploring all the Canary Islands!
We stayed in the H10 Gran Tinerfe in Playa de las Américas and were lucky enough to have a Junior Suite. The hotel was amazing and for the first two days all we did was hang out by the pool soaking up the sun, drinking delicious virgin cocktails and nibbling on the complimentary snacks.
On the third day we headed to the North of the island to do some exploring and visit Loro Parque which was ok for a day out but I didn't really think it was worth all the hype. The weather in the North is much cooler so make sure you take some layers if you decide to head up there.
On our last day the weather was back to baking hot again. So my brother and I headed out to do some exploring of the resorts.. we walked up to Los Christianos which seemed to be a lot more chilled out and a bit calmer. We checked out the beach and then did some shopping at the Chanel counters as it's much cheaper in Tenerife than in the UK!
It was a lovely trip and I came back feeling super healthy from all the delicious food - though I have to admit coming back to a freezing cold North East made me feel very festive and very ready for Christmas.
