Liberty Brown Sunderland, Restaurant Review

Liberty Brown Sunderland, North East England

The other night my family came to visit me while A was away on business and I had completely forgotten to book a table anywhere. Like any typical family no one could agree if they fancied Italian or Spanish or a carvery and everyone was obviously starving so I decided to surprise them. A quick phone call and a very helpful head waitress later we were on our way.

Liberty Brown is a Pizza House, Bar and Grill based on the edge of the River Wear in Sunderland. I had been on a couple of occasions before but only for drinks late in the evening and the food had come highly recommended from friends, so this was the perfect solution.

Liberty Brown Restaurant Review

Liberty Brown Sunderland Dessert

The menu is rather extensive with lots of different choices... there was plenty to keep my extremely fussy family happy and they even managed to cater for my black pepper allergy! (Thanks guys!) The food was fantastic and I won't go into detail on the white chocolate and strawberry cheesecake, that my brother ordered and I ate but it was absolutely amazing.

Liberty Brown is from the same chain as Newcastle's high profile Florita’s, As You Like It and Mr Lynch and it's just good! We sat in a booth towards the back and whilst the restaurant was busy, it wasn't noisy and we were still able to have a good chat over our meal.

If you're stuck for somewhere to go with your family or fancy a natter over some nibbles with your mates that doesn't break the budget, this is the perfect place. You can book a table on the website and I highly recommend becoming a member as the discount vouchers they do are brilliant. We had a great time that evening and I cannot wait to go back. Let me know if you decide to go, I'd love to hear what you think about your visit!

  1. I've heard loads of good things about Liberty Brown but have never been. Food looks nice enough except I would be a bit let down with the accompaniments for the fajitas (yes?) being all in one bowl!

Granted though, that cheesecake looks the dogs...

    1. It was a VERY big bowl, my photos don't do it justice. It's one of those places you either have the full three courses and you're stuff or you go for some shareable nibble type food with friends. You'll love it, I'm sure! x

  2. oooh looks yummy, might even be nice enough to get me out of newcastle and into sunderland!!!

    1. It was delicious... there are some lovely restaurants here you should definitely try! :) x

  3. Oh my food. All looks delicious!!

  4. oops, meant to include - have tagged you in this post:

  5. aww I really want to visit here! Sounds really good. xx
