As you will have read in Natasha's guest post, I was lucky enough to be invited to attend the welcoming of the Queen to Sunderland's Diamond Jubilee Exhibition the other day. Natasha won tickets to attend the event via my blog and as soon as it was confirmed, a new issue arose - what to wear!
I didn't have time to go shopping due to work commitments so I spent a good few hours rooting through my wardrobe and utilizing my style boards on pinterest. I eventually decided on the above and in true Kate Middleton style, I went all highstreet. I wore a black skater dress from New Look, black suede shoes from Matalan which were only £14, my trusty Topshop Mac from last year and standard daily Marc Jacobs Rose Gold watch.
I had a brilliant day, the Queen looked so lovely and the atmosphere was really jolly and everyone got really into the spirit of things. While waiting for the Queen to sail in, I noticed a lovely little girl carrying some flowers. Her name was Ella Gale and she'd wrote the sweetest note to the Queen. I tweeted a picture of the note and was inundated with requests from the press as to who she was. She was such a sweetie.
Natasha's post covers all the details of the event but my favourite part was the re-creation of Roker Beach where the Sunderland Air Show is held every year. Complete with sand, seagulls and deck chairs, I thought it couldn't get any better until somebody handed me some Jubilee Cake!
Did you go to the Diamond Jubilee Exhibition? If you did I'd love to hear about it, leave a comment below or email me!
