If you're into eating clean look away now! Cleadon Village is situated just outside of the City of Sunderland and it's like stepping back in time when you go there. Charles Dickens once lived on the Front Street and like any traditional village, it features a duck pond and of course it's infamous windmill.
In the centre of the village along with it's old post office are now some rather nice boutiques and restaurants including Bon Appetit Deli and on Sunday when A and I discovered we had nothing for breakfast he suggested we go. What an excellent idea it was!
It was a lovely sunny day and from the city it's only ten minutes drive. I was starving when we got there so we went straight in and grabbed a table by the window. (Just a tip: Get there early to get a table outside as they're limited, even we missed out.) I opted for the traditional bacon and egg stottie while A had the customised 'Big Breakfast.'
Unfortunately A had to go into the office so I didn't get to have a proper wander and take more photographs but I spotted a lovely looking bistro which I want to go back to, so hopefully I'll get more photos then. The Bon Appetit Deli is open 7 days a week 8 - 4 and also does amazing take out sandwiches if you work nearby. While you're waiting on your food, they also sell handmade and unique gifts so it's worth a look if your hunting down a present for someone special too. See there Yell Listing here for details.
