I am a self-confessed Royal Family fan - so when I heard the news... Sunderland was going to be hosting a very special Jubilee Exhibition, I was over the moon! The best part is, it's entirely free! One of my favourite things to do when I lived in London was visit the crown jewels and though I'm not sure Sunderland's exhibition will feature any tiaras (though who knows what is possible?), the exhibition will feature memorabilia donated by members of the public in the North East and include displays showcasing some of the milestone moments throughout Queen Elizabeth's 60 year reign, giving an insight into the past of both the city and region.
The exhibition will run at The Port of Sunderland from July 19th until the 22nd and to get a free ticket, all you have to do is call 0191 520 5518 where you can register for up to four people. Or if you fancy your chances, you can win a pair of tickets to a special preview event on the 18th... just remember who told you right!
It's such a great thing for the city to do and it's got me in the mood for some serious 'Kate Middleton' stalking on Pinterest. I love her style and the Queen isn't so bad either! For more information on the event, follow this link - hope to see you there!
Since this was written it has now been announced The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will visit the exhibition on the 18th of July! It will be their first stop on a two day tour of the North East region!
